Jorge Altuna supports the firm’s legislative advocacy, client relations, strategic communications, and internal administrative operations. In his role, Jorge facilitates client engagement with state lawmakers, coordinates client visits to the Florida Capitol during committee weeks and the regular legislative session. He also conducts policy research, tracks bills and budget developments, prepares briefing materials, and helps keep clients informed through external communications and media monitoring. In addition, Jorge supports appropriations requests and bill initiatives, while helping manage scheduling, travel coordination, and office-wide operational needs for the government affairs team.
Before joining Sunrise Consulting Group, Jorge served as a UCF Legislative Scholar with Orange County Government Legislative Affairs, where he researched and tracked more than 50 bills weekly during the Florida Legislative Session, produced policy reports for county leadership, and supported intergovernmental affairs efforts. He also served as an intern for a Florida House district office and previously represented more than 250,000 students countywide as the Student Representative to the Broward County School Board.
Jorge is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of Central Florida, where he also serves as Attorney General and Judicial Advisor for Student Government. Jorge is bilingual in English and Spanish and brings to his work a strong foundation in communication and legislative affairs and is dedicated to supporting the firm’s clients.
